Seed Talent

Filling IT roles can be hard, especially when the talent is geographically distanced from their next job. That’s just one of the ways Vieple has changed the way we do business
— Robert Simpson, Director at Seed Talent

Seed Talent has been recognised by BRW as one of Australia’s 100 fastest-growing start-up companies for 2012. Seed is a recruitment agency with a major focus on finding the right IT talent to fit their clients’ organisations.

Filling IT roles can be hard, especially when the talent is geographically distanced from their next job. Seed Talent wanted to reduce the hours recruitment consultants spent conducting interviews with candidates who were overseas or on the other side of the country and overcome the issues associated with different time zones. Seed’s earlier attempts to use other video interviewing tools, such as Skype, had been foiled by technical issues, such as ‘freezing screen’ and other bandwidth related issues, leading to lost time and negative candidate experience.

How Seed Talent applied Vieple

Seed Talent intuitively understood the benefits video interviewing couldprovide, but it wasn’t until they had used Vieple that they experienced

the full extent of how much video interviewing could improve their business.

From a technical perspective, Vieple had overcome many of the problems associated with other video interviewing systems, by using asynchronous interviews, which had been pre-recorded by candidates, rather than viewed live.

Vieple enabled Seed to provide hiring managers access to the best applicants’ responses, therefore engaging their clients in a more meaningful way than can be achieved when viewing a CV. This was particularly relevant for technical questions, where the recruiters were able to engage subject-matter experts to help them assess and rate candidate responses.

The Results

Using video interviewing, Seed Talent have been able to provide a more efficient, reliable and engaging service to their clients, while securing better hires through a more rigorous and interactive interview process.
